Our Commitment to Sustainability

We have consistently prioritised environmental sustainability through proactive pollution control and energy efficiency measures.

  • First foundry in India to achieve ISO 14001:2004 certification
  • Robust energy efficiency practices to reduce overall energy consumption
  • Monthly monitoring of energy usage for continuous optimisation
  • Ongoing efforts to control and progressively reduce gaseous emissions


Sand Recycling


We follow an environmentally responsible approach in sand usage and recycling during the moulding process.

  • Use of Green Sand bonded with water. No chemicals involved
  • 98% of sand is recycled across production cycles
  • Multi-stage magnetic separation for sand cleaning
  • Coarse particles removed via magnetic drum and conveyor
  • Fine particles separated through magnetic gravity separation
  • Cast iron and steel scrap is recycled in furnaces
  • Boring and fines from casting and machining are briquetted and re-melted in-house


Iron Fines Recovery


To prevent soil contamination, we employ a briquetting process that ensures complete reuse of iron fines.

  • Briquetting machine compacts iron fines into cylindrical briquettes
  • These briquettes are charged back into the cupola furnace for re-melting
  • This process prevents iron fines from entering landfills and protects soil integrity

Regular training is conducted to refresh employees on safety protocols, and standard operating procedures are made accessible on the plant floor. We also foster the Great Place to Work environment, emphasising safe, friendly working conditions that instil a sense of pride among employees and associates.

Governance

Crescent maintains a strong commitment to governance by ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The company invests in solutions to monitor changes, reporting, and compliance processes effectively.

We have also established a formal risk management process to identify and manage key risks within the organisation's risk appetite. Internal audits are conducted independently to report on issues and risks, and an effective whistle-blower policy is in place to encourage stakeholders to report any ethical concerns.
